As Spera Niteo flew over the city of London, Razel observed the damages from months of battle. He had no idea how much the people of Earth had been through, but as he zoomed into the people on the street he could see two kinds of people. The first were ragged, clearly exhausted from lack of sleep and over-worked. Even on a zoomed screen Razel could see the worn expression on their faces. He could tell these people were either pilots or some other military worker.
The others walked along, living their lives just like every other day. Some seemed on edge, an unease building with every day the looming shadow in the sky remain.
Civilians, Razel thought, lucky.
Once at the castle, Razel landed Spera inside the hanger. He noticed Hal had already made it back, seeing his MS parked in its usual spot. Mechanics had already started working on the large MS, repairing and refueling it for the next time Hal might need it next. Spera's cockpit hatch opened and as he exited he could hear the friendly greetings of the mechanics and techs littering the hanger. Razel was slightly taken aback as he descended on his rip cord to the ground below, where a group of people circled him almost immediately. He forgot how it felt, to be surrounded by people who looked up to him, instead of the almost constant running for our lives on board the Yggdrasil.
The people aboard that ship were not fond of us three Razel thought to himself, smiling at the warm greeting. Razel shook hands and said hellos to everyone in the hanger before he could get away. On his way to the Queen, Razel was shocked to see Hal sprawled out on the ground, seemingly unconscious. Razel ran over to Hal and immediately checked his pulse, noting a healthy flow of blood. As he got closer he noticed both Hal's normal breathing pattern and eye movement.
Razel smiled and stood, calling over a few aides just walking into the hall way where Hal snoozed.
"Can you make sure he gets back to his room?" Razel asked the aides with a smile, "it seems exhaustion got the better of him. He just needs to sleep and he'll be fine. Thanks!" With that Razel was off down the hall, now in a bit of a hurry to get to the Queen and tell her everything he knew.
